Throw a Travelling Tailgate Celebration
The brainchild for the travelling tailgate started out during a family trip down to see the Jets play in Carolina. They always received season tickets to Jets games, but this certain trip propelled Walker to form a group of guys that were gung-ho about the idea of passing an yearly tradition.
If you get a grouping of acquaintances who all root for the same squad, then you’ve discovered your perfect travel team. But you can also look past the apparent and use this as a way to help strengthen household ties between generations — get Granddad, your boys, chums, and close full cousins committed to make purposeful memories that will last a life-time.
Rather than searching eateries and bars online, make friends with the locals for great recommendations. Ask them about great places to go prior to and after the activity, where to get goodies and beverages, etc. You can end up at a truly good hole in the wall you’d never have discovered. Plus, half the fun of going is living the local flavor.
Don’t Leave Your Camera
After all your hard work organizing, planning and tailgating, document your achievement. Make sure to get one genuinely good group shot that takes everyone in the tailgate with the sports stadium in the backdrop.
When you get home, blow up the best shot of the crew and get one framed for each guy. This makes a good relic and will remind you of all the fun times at the tailgate party you had together. Hopefully one day you will have 32 of them hanging on the wall!
